To curb one of the major problem of indian railways ,central railway has begun constructing a 41 km boundary walls along its tracks so that trespassing on its suburban areas can be controlled to much effective extent.
Official have shortlisted 139 locations that witness maximum numbers of trespassing incidents of peoples and stray cattles,which often hinders the proper functioning of railways whilst lead to a tragedy or accidents.
Although ,Railway minister piyush goyal has promised to build a 3000 km walls to guard tracks only after the amristar mishap .Even this haste like now will take time,as this 41 km boundary wall is expected to be completed by March 31,though the work has been started by now.The cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 35 crore while the cost of the whole 3000 km project will cost about Rs 2500 crore.Railways wall will be erected wherever necessary and fences in short stretches.
Despite residents have often objected to wall construction, erstwhile whenever wall were constructed,bricks and iron fences were pillaged .
Even though the railway wall of the amristar was failed to prevent the tragedy.So, it's all on the people's responsibility to become cautious and not to immerse oneself in activities which could put their lives in dangers.
It's a welcoming move which could lessen the number of obdurate trespassers.
